Meet Our Team

Our team is the heart of Pet Central. Each member brings unique skills, compassion, and dedication to ensure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for every single day.

Steven (Steve)

Owner

Steven (Steve) is the owner of Pet Central and has been creating safe, fun, and comfortable environments for dogs for over 18 years. Growing up in Mapleton, Steve knew he wanted to build a business rooted in joy, love, and compassion for every pet who stays at the facility. A UVU graduate in Aviation Sciences and a graduate of pet grooming school in Georgia, Steve brings more than 20 years of grooming experience, expertise with all behaviors—including aggressive dogs—and a patient, kind, and respectful approach to animal care. Devoted to his own family and passionate about connecting with every dog, Steve lives by high standards of care, ensuring each pet is treated like a loved member of the family. While he enjoys flying, Steve’s true passion is sitting, playing, and walking dogs, sharing his work ethic, compassion, and family values with every pet and client at Pet Central.

Hilary

Hilary is the second owner of Pet Central and has been a dedicated part of the business for over 15 years. Living on the property allows her to be closely involved in daily operations and ensures pets receive consistent, attentive care. Trained in grooming more than 12 years ago, Hilary is well versed in all breeds, behaviors, and care needs, and has worked every role at Pet Central—from administering medications and creating monthly schedules to leading safety meetings. A UVU graduate in Human Behavioral Sciences and Pet Central’s certified HR representative, Hilary brings a thoughtful, well-rounded approach to every situation. Her passion for travel and her own pets—Bricks the Blue Heeler, Branch the Dalmatian, and Sherman the Great Pyrenees (who happily accompanies her everywhere, including Pet Central)—inspired her commitment to creating the best possible environment for animals while their families are away. Animal CPR certified, Hilary values strong relationships with clients and their pets, and lives by her motto, “less is more,” believing that doing things right creates more time for safe, structured play and genuine care.

Devyn

Devyn has been a valued member of the Pet Central team for over three years and currently serves as our Assistant Manager. Trained in-house by Pet Central’s certified professional owners, Devyn brings three years of grooming experience along with a strong commitment to safety, structure, and following best practices. Known for his gentle, compassionate nature, Devyn has a calm presence that helps even nervous or aggressive dogs feel secure. Though soft-spoken and shy, he’s incredibly dependable—never late, highly motivated, and always willing to go the extra mile. Outside of grooming and boarding, Devyn offers Devyn’s Destinations, a special one-on-one adventure service where dogs enjoy a 90-minute walk or hike complete with photos and a same-day story update for families. When he’s not at work, Devyn enjoys helping on his family ranch and spending time outdoors with his Yorkie, Oso, who loves coming to work to play, along with horses and other animals at home. Small but mighty, Devyn’s dedication, work ethic, and genuine love for both animals and people make him an essential part of Pet Central.

Douglas (Doug)

brings over 30 years of hands-on animal care experience to our grooming and boarding team. A retired veterinary technician and Animal CPR–certified professional, Doug has spent more than three years caring for pets here at Pet Central with the same dedication and compassion he’s shown throughout his career. Known for his deep understanding of animals, Doug treats every pet like one of his own kids. Outside of work, he’s a proud rescue dad to a sweet Border Collie named Boa, who loves tagging along to play and visit. Doug’s experience, wisdom, and genuine love for animals make him a trusted favorite among both pets and pet parents.

Joely

Joely has been a dedicated member of the Pet Central team for over eight years and brings more than four years of grooming experience to our facility. Trained in-house alongside Steven, Joely is highly knowledgeable in dog behavior and is known for her detail-oriented approach and clear, efficient communication. A BYU graduate, she is a reliable team player who loves pitching in to support her coworkers and maintains close working relationships with both staff and shop owners. Joely’s loyalty to Pet Central, combined with her professionalism and strong understanding of dogs, makes her a trusted and valued part of our grooming and boarding team. Outside of work, she enjoys training her own pup, Lilo, a spirited little Corgi.

Candace
